MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, CANADA, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- YTC Healthcare has expanded its full-service Medical Billing for Healthcare Providers and revenue cycle management for practices, clinics and hospitals in Canada and the United States. The expansion adds specialty coding coverage, additional denial management and accounts receivable follow-up capacity, and broader payer coverage spanning Canadian provincial plans and United States Medicare, Medicaid and commercial claims.
The service runs the revenue cycle in thirteen documented stages, each with one accountable owner and one control that must pass before work moves forward. Eligibility and benefits verification, medical coding, claim preparation and scrubbing, submission, rejection handling, denial management and appeals, accounts receivable follow-up, payment posting and reconciliation, underpayment recovery, patient billing support and performance reporting all sit inside that sequence rather than being handled as separate tasks.
Five controls define how the cycle differs from claim processing. Coverage is confirmed as active and payable before the claim exists. Coding is performed by coders working in that specialty, to the level of specificity the documentation supports. Payer rules are applied before the claim leaves. Denials are categorized by cause and appealed on that cause rather than resubmitted unchanged. Payments are checked against the contracted rate, because a claim marked paid has not necessarily been paid correctly.
"Ask a billing company what caused last month's denials and you usually get a percentage," said Salman Rehan, President and CEO of YTC Healthcare. "A percentage with no category, no payer and no provider behind it is not a report, it is a headline. A practice with a 12% denial rate does not have a denial problem, it has a reporting problem that produces one, because the corrective effort gets spread evenly across a failure that is concentrated in two or three categories."
Underpayment recovery is handled separately from denial recovery. A payment that posts below the contracted rate leaves the worklist looking resolved, which is why underpayments are one of the least visible losses in a practice. Claims are compared against contracted rates rather than being closed on receipt of payment.
YTC tracks every claim against a target of 95% or higher first-pass acceptance and works to accounts receivable under 40 days. Both figures are internal targets rather than promised outcomes. Performance is reported against a baseline captured before the engagement begins, so any change can be checked rather than asserted.
The company does not guarantee a collection rate, a denial rate or a cash flow result. Payer behaviour, documentation quality, specialty mix and claim volume all affect outcomes. What YTC commits to instead is a named owner at every stage, eligibility and authorization checked before the claim rather than after the denial, every denial categorized and root-caused, every open balance carrying a next action and a date, and reporting that names the cause behind each movement.
Cross-border work is handled under three named privacy frameworks rather than one general assurance. For United States clients, HIPAA applies and a Business Associate Agreement is executed before any protected health information is handled. For Ontario clients, PHIPA applies, with YTC acting as an agent of the health information custodian. PIPEDA covers personal information handled in Canadian commercial activity. Requirements in other provinces are confirmed per engagement rather than asserted in advance.
The two reimbursement environments are handled as two systems rather than one. Canadian provincial plans operate their own fee schedules, service codes and submission channels, and describing them in United States payer vocabulary produces claims that do not match how they are adjudicated. Coding, submission and follow-up are set to the environment the practice actually bills into. YTC works inside a client's existing practice management, electronic health record and clearinghouse systems rather than requiring a platform migration before collections can improve.
The service is aimed at independent practices and mid-size groups, the segment large enterprise revenue cycle firms structurally underserve, and at multi-specialty groups that would otherwise need a separate vendor for each service line.
YTC Healthcare is a member and certified with the American Medical Billing Association, the professional body for Medical Billing Services in the United States.
"The number we care about at the start is the one we take before we touch anything," said Rehan. "If there is no baseline, every improvement afterwards is a claim rather than a measurement. We would rather show a practice a smaller change they can verify than a larger one they have to take on trust."
Practices can send a recent denial file for a free billing review, which returns the categories driving most of their rejections and the stage of the cycle that prevents each one, at no charge and with no commitment.
